Last updated: June 18, 2026

This is a reference translation. TheJapanese versionis the official text and prevails in case of any discrepancy.

Article 1 (Scope)

These Terms of Service (these "Terms") apply to all relationships concerning the use of the web application "Shokuyoku Map" (the "Service") provided by its operator (the "Operator").

Article 2 (Registration and Authentication)

Any person who wishes to use the Service shall sign in through a Google account. The Service does not offer its own email/password authentication; authentication is delegated to Google OAuth 2.0.

Upon first sign-in, users shall enter a nickname of their own choosing to be displayed within the Service. The display name of the Google account is not used within the Service (to prevent disclosure of real names). Using a real name, the name of a public figure, or any name that impersonates another person as a nickname is prohibited.

The Service does not collect or store real names, addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, or any other personal information. For details, please refer to thePrivacy Policy.

Article 3 (Service Fees)

All features of the Service are available free of charge. No paid plans, in-app purchases, or subscriptions are offered (as revised on 2026-07-01).

The following features are available to all users free of charge: Shokuyoku Badge growth from Lv1 to Lv5 (which evolves based on the number of sign-in days), Plant Shelf (up to 30 slots), event information browsing, the map, check-ins (once per day, within a 100 m radius), prefecture badges, the nationwide-completion badge, My Calendar (plant-activity posts), watering records, plant-activity reports, and SNS posts.

For plant-activity posts on My Calendar, only future dates may not be registered; no other restrictions on dates or the number of entries apply (revised in v0.8).

The check-in feature (added in v0.6) can only be used when your current location is within approximately 100 m of a shop or a gardening event venue. The latitude and longitude obtained at the time of execution are stored for fraud prevention within the Service and for displaying your history (see thePrivacy Policyfor details). Check-ins are limited to once per day for the same shop or the same event (calculated from 0:00 JST; v0.7). A prefecture badge is automatically granted when you check in even once at a shop or event in that prefecture (free of charge, available to all users). Within the same prefecture, the badge is upgraded in stages to Silver at a cumulative total of 5 check-ins and to Gold at 10 check-ins (v0.7). Earning the badges of all 47 prefectures grants the "Nationwide Completion" badge (v0.7). You will be notified within the Service when a badge is earned or upgraded. These specifications and conditions are subject to change without notice.

Article 4 (Prohibited Conduct)

Users shall not engage in any of the following conduct:

  • Conduct that violates laws, regulations, or public order and morals
  • Conduct related to criminal activity
  • Conduct that infringes the intellectual property rights, privacy, or reputation of the Operator or any third party
  • Registering a nickname using a real name or the name of a public figure, or impersonating another person
  • Conduct that destroys or interferes with the functions of the servers or network of the Service
  • Conduct that interferes with the operation of the Service
  • Unauthorized access
  • Harassment or defamation of other users
  • Unauthorized use for commercial purposes
  • Redistributing or selling content obtained from the Service outside the Service
  • Any other conduct that the Operator deems inappropriate

Article 5 (Suspension of the Service)

The Operator may suspend all or part of the Service without prior notice to users due to system maintenance, force majeure such as earthquakes, fires, or telecommunications failures, or other unavoidable circumstances.

Article 6 (Handling of Posted Content)

In this Article, "Posted Content" means any and all information that users submit to or register with the Service, including posts (text and images), replies, free-text comments on the "Daily Survey", information registered on My Plant Shelf (plant names, photos, and notes), and various records (plant-activity posts, watering records, and the like).

Copyright in Posted Content belongs to the user; however, the Operator may use Posted Content on a royalty-free, non-exclusive, sublicensable basis for the purposes of providing, improving, and promoting the Service (including SNS share cards). As a specific example, photos posted by users may be displayed as thumbnail images for the relevant shop on the map, in shop listings, and elsewhere.

The Service has the nature of a social networking service, and posts, replies, comments on the watering survey, profile information set to public, and similar information are publicly displayed to other users together with your nickname. Users shall not post content that infringes the rights of third parties, or photos in which other people appear without the permission of the rights holders. If you select "Private" when posting, that post is visible only to you and is not disclosed to other users, guests, or search results (added in v0.6). For details on visibility settings, please refer to thePrivacy Policy.

When photos are uploaded, Exif metadata (such as shooting location and camera model) is automatically removed on the server side.

Article 7 (Account Deletion and Removal of Information)

Users may delete their account at any time from the My Page section within the Service. After account deletion, the Operator will physically delete the account information and Posted Content of the user within 30 days (due to the characteristics of the backup system, the data may remain recoverable for up to 14 days).

Article 8 (Disclaimer)

The Operator does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of shop information, photos, business hours, news, event information, or any other content included in the Service. With respect to damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Service, the liability of the Operator, regardless of the cause, shall be limited to the total amount of fees the user directly paid to the Service during the preceding 12 months.

Article 9 (External Content and External Links)

  1. The Service may aggregate and display, for the convenience of users, gardening-related news (headlines and links distributed by third parties such as Google News and news organizations) and event information (information provided by third parties such as connpass, Peatix, and event organizers).
  2. The Operator makes no guarantee whatsoever as to the accuracy, completeness, currency, or legality of such externally sourced information. The copyrights, trademarks, and other rights in each piece of content belong to their respective providers.
  3. Links from the Service to external sites are provided for convenience only, and the Operator assumes no responsibility for the content or services of the linked sites. Use of linked sites is subject to the terms of service and privacy policy of each site.

Article 9-2 (Advertising)

  1. To help cover operating costs, the Service may display paid sponsor placements (advertisements by gardening shops and businesses, clearly labeled "PR") and affiliate advertisements (referral links to external e-commerce sites such as Rakuten Ichiba for gardening supplies and the like, clearly labeled "PR / Affiliate Advertisement").
  2. The Operator does not endorse or guarantee the content, quality, or transaction terms of the products or services of advertisers, sponsors, or linked sites, and assumes no responsibility whatsoever arising therefrom. Transactions are conducted between the user and the respective business or e-commerce operator, and the terms of service and privacy policy of each site apply.
  3. The Operator does not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking for behavioral targeting purposes. The presence, placement, and content of advertisements are determined at the sole discretion of the Operator.

Article 10 (Amendment of these Terms)

The Operator may amend these Terms. In the case of material changes (such as additions to the information collected, changes to purposes of use, or changes to cancellation conditions), the Operator will announce the changes on the Service and ask users to consent again.

Article 11 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. In the event of any dispute concerning the Service, the court having jurisdiction over the location of the Operator shall have exclusive agreed jurisdiction.
